Nobody from Canada made the final table but “ModzillaPL” managed to win the $700 Super-Sized Sunday for $49,474 plus over $20,000 in bounties. There were more than just results in that tournament this Sunday though with many major tournaments from 888poker and partypoker, including the partypoker $1 million guaranteed Heavyweight: Title Fight. The $130,000 Mega Deep
The premiere Sunday tournament on 888poker usually boasts a guarantee of $120,000 for a $215 buy-in, but this week saw the guarantee increase to $130,000. This week there were 787 players who bought in, creating a prize pool worth $157,400. Nobody from Canada was logging in from within our borders, but “Trollkonst8” from Sweden was able to outlast the field to take home $28,882.90
The $120,000 Whale
The Whale is 888poker’s high roller tournament of the day with a buy-in of $600 and a $120,000 guarantee. A total of 252 players entered the tournament, generating a prize pool worth $142,380. One Canadian was able to make the final table. Unfortunately “marioallin58” was the first to leave the final table, taking home $2,705.22 for the ninth-place finish.

Sunday Kickoff
The biggest tournaments of the day get started on PokerStars every week with the $109 Sunday Kickoff with a $100,000 prize pool guarantee. This week’s edition had 1,266 players creating a prize pool worth $126,600. Nobody logging in from Canada was able to make the final table and “Geshpanec538” from Russia was the one outlasting the field to win $19,695.52.
Sunday Warm-Up
The $215 Sunday Warm-Up increases the guaranteed prize pool up to $350,000. This tournament saw 2,308 competitors create a prize pool worth $461,600. Nobody from Canada made the final nine but “Nacho124441” from Mexico was able to win the tournament for $68,455.16.
Super-Sized Sunday
The $700 Super-Sized Sunday is a progressive knockout tournament with half the buy-in going to the player’s bounty. This tournament saw a whopping 903 entries creating a prize pool worth just over $600,000. The only competitor from the Great White North to reach the final table of this tournament was “ModzillaPL” and, after the final card had fallen, they were victorious taking home the title for $49,474.88 plus over $20,000 in bounties.
Sunday Storm
Moving on to the lowest tournament that is considered a Sunday major: the $11 Sunday Storm. This is a must-play on most people's radar because of the value you receive for your $11. It creates a guaranteed prize pool of at least $275,000. Nobody from Canada was able to reach the final table but “nkeyno” from Japan was able to be victorious, outlasting a field of 34,887 and a prize pool of $348,870 to win $34,062.93.
Sunday Million
This is the most coveted online poker tournament in the world with a buy-in of just $215 and, this time around, was the 11th anniversary of the event, creating a guaranteed prize pool of $10 million dollars as well as guaranteeing at least $1 million for first. Entries came to 55,835 creating a prize pool of $11,167,000. Nobody from Canada was able to make the final table but “angevil7” was able to finish 17th with his second bullet for $40,369.82. After the 15.5-hour marathon, it was “Xavi666” from Panama wining the tournament and becoming an overnight millionaire, winning $1,093,204.63.
Mini Sunday Million
Giving the Sunday Million feel for a tenth of the buy-in is the weekly Mini Sunday Million where the buy-in is $22 with a $175,000 guaranteed. Nobody logging in from the borders of Canada was able to make the final table and it was “Houbanan” from Denmark outlasting “Hagbart55” from Germany for the $32,764.47 payday.
Sunday Grand (NLHE)
The most expensive weekly tournaments on PokerStars’ regular Sunday schedule are the two $1,050 Sunday Grand events. There are two editions of the tournament with both starting at the same time. The first guarantees $225,000 and is a no-limit hold’em tournament. A total of 316 players entered, destroying the guarantee and creating a $316,000 prize pool. Two Canadians were able to make the final table of this event with “gottogive” finishing in sixth place for $13,494.71. “Jbrown8777” was the other Canadian to make a deep run and ended up getting heads-up for the title but was unable to eliminate “iamivar” from Sweden who walked away with $59,507.96. “Jbrown8777” was able to take home $44,227.42 for his second-place finish.
Sunday Grand (PLO)
The second edition of the $1,050 Sunday Grand is a six-max pot-limit Omaha tournament with $100,000 guaranteed. This week, 170 entries created a $170,000 prize pool. “Gottogive” was able to make it a double in the Sunday Grand by also final tabling the PLO version. He ended up finishing fourth for $14,330.09. As the final card fell, it was “Secret_M0d3” taking home the title and $34,455.99.
Sunday Cooldown
The buy-in drops to $109 for the Sunday Cooldown with a turbo structure. A sum of 2,129 players entered the tournament, creating a $212,900 prize pool. There were two players logging in from within the Canadian border making the final table of this tournament. “Ivanage” was the first Canadian to be eliminated, finishing in sixth place for $6,109.46. “Mchurzee” was the last Canadian standing but ended up busting in fourth place for $11,817.75. The remaining three players ended up making a deal and playing for a remaining amount. In the end it was “chips4champ” from Australia winning the title and $21,247.32. Finishing in second place but taking home the most money was “NoLimit5800” from Japan who collected $28,596.27.
Sunday Supersonic
The Sunday majors conclude on PokerStars with the $215 Sunday Supersonic — a six-max hyper-speed tournament with a $175,000 guarantee. 1,610 players entered the tournament creating a prize pool of $329,663. Nobody waving a Canadian flag was seen at the final table with Bulgarian “trionojnika” winning the tournament from $50,117.59.

Heavyweight: The Title Fight
The headlining Sunday major in partypoker’s lineup is the $215 Heavyweight: The Title Fight which traded in it’s $300,000 guarantee for a $1 million guarantee. The tournament got more runners than usual but still fell just under $200,000 shy of the guarantee, creating a massive overlay. Two Canadians ended up with a spot in the final nine. “ImSeriously” was the first Canadian to fall, finishing in eighth for $9,600. The second Canadian to make a deep run was “BYLIA” who ended up in sixth place for $21,080. 'JokerzFull' was the recipient of the victory and $153,820.
Heavyweight: The Main Event
The lower-priced major is the $109 Heavyweight: The Main Event with $150,000 guaranteed. There were 2,152 entries in this edition of the Heavyweight: The Main Event creating a total prize pool of $215,200. No Canadians made the final table of this event. “Hellzito” from Brazil was the one that ended up with all the chips and the $31,708 first-place prize.

High Roller: $150K Gtd
For those with deeper pockets, the $530 High Roller guarantees a prize pool of $150,000. A total of 406 players ended up playing the tournament, creating a prize pool worth $203,000. A plethora of Canadians made the final table of this event with “BustinDaNut” finishing in eighth place for $3,931.50. “AntiReapCity” was the second-best finishing person from the Great White North with their sixth-place finish for $7,465. “OhsoDante” ended up as the top Canadian finisher in this tournament with a third-place finish, taking home $23,902.80. In the end it was “Sammy_squid” from the United Kingdom outlasting the field to collect $26,260.78.
Super High Roller: $100K Gtd
The price increases a lot for the $2,600 Super High Roller with a $100,000 guarantee. There were 68 players bought who in, creating a prize pool worth $170,000. Only one Canadian was able to make the final table, but a third-place finish for “sordykrd” meant he took home $23,227.95. Argentinian “MechaCorta” got the better of German “PhileasFogg” in a heads-up battle to take home $50,221.23.
